#18 Erased (ぼくだけがいないまち)

こんにちは！与那嶺です。

先週に「Erased」というあたらしいアニメを見ました。

The story follows Satoru, the main character, who has the ability to go back in time with the objective of preventing a bad thing to happen. He does that with some “minor” occurrences, but it then becomes more personal to him, to the point where he goes back 18 years, back to his time in elementary school. He then has to act differently in order to change the future bad accidents from happening.

I was able to recognize some words and even short phrases, like “行ってらっしゃい“, “ただいま”, “ごちそうさまでした”, “あたまがいい”, and “しつれいします” (there were probably other words too but I can’t recall them). I’m not sure if it is related to cultural knowledge, but the anime also deals with the theme of child abduction, and how it might be dangerous for young children to be alone outside at night.

#17 ノートルダムのゆるキャラ

こんにちは！与那嶺です。

これはノートルダム大学のゆるキャラです。リスです。なまえはピップです。キャンパスにすんでいます。手と足がみじかいですが、あたまが大きいです。せがひくいです。それから、ちょっとふとっていますから、とてもかわいいです。そして、あおときいろのノートルダムのTシャツをきていて、とびらのぼうしをかぶっています。しゅみはフットボールのしあいを見ます。それから、キーオというりょうがすきです。あたたかいてんきもすきですから、ゆきがすきじゃないです。一日に四回食べています。そして、日本語を話しますが、まだ日本に行っていません。ピップはとてもおもしろいです。キャンパスでにんきがあります。

#16 「ガチアクタ」というあたらしいアニメ！

こんにちは！与那嶺です。

先週に私は「ガチアクタ」というあたらしいアニメを見ました。とてもかっこいいですよ！

A friend once recommended this anime to me, but at the time I was watching another one. Now I’ve finally started it and I’ve been liking it a lot! Gachiakuta tells the story of Rudo (main character) who lives in a dystopian world in which socioeconomic differences are extreme. In this world, all objects have a soul and their soul is strengthened depending on the amount of care/attention they receive. Rudo, and other people, can bring up the soul of the object and then use them to fight. I’m excited with the story development and I find the animation style very pretty and creative.

Yes! In relation to my Japanese language study, I was able to recognize some words and expressions in Japanese and learn a couple others by relating their Japanese audio with the English subtitles. Regarding the acquisition of cultural knowledge, I believe the underlying plot of ‘every object having its own soul’ is related to Japanese culture (after a little research, I found out that it is called “Tsukumogami”).

#15 ふゆやすみはたのしかったです！

こんにちは！与那嶺です。

あけけましておめでとうございます！ (Happy New Year!)

ふゆやすみはとてもよかったですよ。うちにかえりませんでしたが、オーランドに行きました。サウスベンドからオーランドまでひこうきにのって、くうこうでかぞくにあいました。いっしょにディズニーワールドとユニバーサルでりょこうします。それから、バスケットボールのしあいをみました。りょうしんときょうだいとあそびましたから、たのしかったでした。

そして、ノースカロライナのバーナエルクにいきました。山にスキーをしました。スキーはたのしかったですから、スキーがすきです。さむいでした。いもうととおとうとは小さいゆきだるま (snowman) をつくりました。きょうだいはゆきがすきでした。それから、母といもうととおいしいばんごはんをつくりました。

あ！たくさんしゃしんをとりました。みって下さい。

#14 ふゆやすみ + Last Blog Post of FA25

こんにちは！与那嶺です。

もうすぐふゆやすみですね。たのしみにしています (I am looking forward to it)！

十二月二十日のばんにサウスベンドからシャーロットまでひこうきにのります。それから、シャーロットからオーランドまでひこうきにものります。ごうけいで (in total) 四時間ぐらいかかります。二十一日にかぞくとあいますよ。だから、ほんとうにワクワクしています。かぞくといっしょにオーランドでかんこうします。ディズニーワールドやユニバーサルにいきます。それから、バスケットボールしあいをみます。オーランド・マジックは私のかぞくのすきなチームです。

そして、いっしょにノースカロライナまでひこうきにのります。ノースカロライナに「バナーエルク」という町です。バナーエルクはさむいですよ。私のきょうだいがゆきをみるのははじめてです (first time seeing snow)。だから、とてもたのしいです。

私のふゆやすみはちょっといそがしいですが、とてもたのしいです。かぞくはだいすきです。

As for my Japanese learning journey in this semester, it was awesome. I really liked it! I feel like I learned a lot and the class environment was also very light. I believe it was probably the best class I took in this semester, the one that I most liked. Also, a big factor is the combination of classes with outside resources, such as J-POP and アニメ, through which I can actually perceive my development in learning Japanese. I'm looking forward to the next semesters! And maybe the summer abroad too!

はなぶさ先生とかわむら先生とクラスメートがほんとうにすきです。

ほんとうにありがとうございます。

#13 My first サンクスギビング

こんにちは！与那嶺です。

せんしゅうはサンクスギビングのやすみでしたね。

サンクスギビングのやすみに大学にいましたよ。りょうのへやにいました。ともだちは大学にいませんでしたから、たくさんねましたよ。それから、ベッドの上でたくさんアニメをみました。今、「Hunter X Hunter」をみます。アクションアニメです。とてもたのしいですから、おすすめです。

そして、サンクスギビングのごはんはとてもおいしかったですよ。しょくどうでたくさんしょっぱいとあまいたべものがありました。ざんねんでしたが、ターキーはたべませんでした。でも、デザートはとてもおいしかったですから、パイを二つ食べました。
